It's turning into a beautiful, sunny spring weekend, and today has seen four of the five engines in 5305LA's care in action at the Great Central Railway's Easter Vintage Festival, centred on Quorn and Woodhouse.
70013 and 777 are working as part of a busy timetable every day until Monday, with the GCR's new resident, 92214, as the third steam locomotive. Please see the 'events' listings on this website for timetables and roster information.
D6535, its electrical gremlins having been successfully traced, went to Quorn earlier in the week and today took D123 as load and insurance for runs to Rothley and back. From Tuesday to Friday of next week, D123 (Tues/Weds) and D6535 (Thur/Fri) will be doing the three-trip diesel diagram as part of the Easter 'sale' at the GCR, followed by a turn each on the usual GCR weekend diesel diagram the following weekend (D6535 on Sat, D123 on Sun).
5305LA wish all our supporters a very happy Easter. We hope to see you soon!
