5305 at Willesden
We have had another email about 45305’s Historic Trip to Euston, on the Capital Five last weekend. This time Gordon Manders who works at Willesden sent us a batch of photographs of the servicing, here’s what he said:
“Here are some photographs of the wonderful Black Five 45305 at Willesden Depot on Saturday after her run on the ‘Capital Five’ for your website. In many, many, many years to come when I’m old and grey I can look back with fond memories! Excellent job on the overhaul. They don’t make them like they used to. I even went to work on my day off to take these photographs. I must be completely mad!
It always great to see the Steam Locomotives at Willesden. We have only had a few at Willesden including ‘Duke of Gloucester’, LNER B1 and this year ‘Princess Elizabeth’. But we do see many Steam Loco’s past us, even today ‘Tornado’ steamed past us full of passengers. I would sooner enjoy seeing them any day instead of the ones we have at Willesden.”
And here are three of the photos he sent.
Thank you Gordon for the photos, and for the lovely things you said about 45305.
